General

What is ExamRift?

ExamRift is an AI-powered language exam preparation platform. We offer mock exams, AI grading for writing and speaking, vocabulary & grammar tools, and personalized study plans. You can practice TOEFL iBT 2026 and TOEIC Listening & Reading now, with more language tests on the roadmap.

Is this an official test provider?

No. ExamRift is an independent practice platform. We are not affiliated with ETS, British Council, JEES, or any official test administrator. Our mock exams simulate real test conditions to help you prepare, but scores are not official. Exam names and formats are used for reference only.

Can I invite a friend for AP?

An eligible genuinely new friend who follows your personal invite link and completes valid signup receives 50 AP once. You do not receive AP, subscription time, cash, or any other reward.

Do I need to install anything?

No. ExamRift runs in your browser on desktop, tablet, and mobile with nothing to install. If you prefer an app-like experience, you can optionally install it as a PWA — see the "Install as an App" section below.

Install as an App (PWA)

Can I install ExamRift as an app on my phone or computer?

Yes. ExamRift is a web app you can add to your home screen or install in a supported desktop browser for quick access. Installation is optional, and an internet connection is required.

How do I install the app?

iPhone or iPad: Open examrift.com in Safari or Chrome. Open the browser's Share menu. Choose Add to Home Screen. Review the app name and tap Add. If Add to Home Screen is missing, open examrift.com in Safari and try its Share menu. You can also keep using ExamRift in your browser without installing it. On Android Chrome, use the browser menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen. On desktop Chrome or Edge, use the browser's install option when it is available.

How do I uninstall or update the app?

On a phone or tablet, remove the app or shortcut from your home screen. On desktop, use the app window or browser menu to uninstall it. Updates do not require reinstalling the app. To check for updates, finish your practice, then reload the page or fully close and reopen the app while online. An already open page may keep running its current version.

Does the installed app work offline?

No. ExamRift requires an internet connection to load content, run practice sessions, and submit work for grading. Installing the app does not provide offline practice.

Action Points (AP) & Pricing

What are Action Points?

Action Points (AP) gate feature usage. The Free plan has no passive recovery; paid plans recover AP automatically over time. Exam drills cost 1-6 AP; AI grading costs 30 AP. Some features like SRS review are always free. See how AP is used on the Pricing page.

Is ExamRift free to use?

Yes! Core features are available on the Free plan. Free users get 10 AP max with no passive recovery; Intense users get 300 AP max with 1 AP every 20 minutes.

What do I get with Intense?

Intense gives you 30x AP capacity (300 vs 10), passive recovery (1 AP / 20 min; Free has no passive recovery), advanced analytics with practice performance estimates, AI-powered study plans, and access to AP top-ups.

Do new accounts get a trial?

Yes. Every new account starts with 14 days of Plus-level AP capacity and recovery — no credit card required. After the trial, your account reverts to the Free tier unless you subscribe.

Can I get a refund?

A full refund is available only for an unused initial subscription payment within 7 days of the initial charge if no AP has been consumed, or for a verified duplicate charge. Ordinary renewals, used or late initial payments, AP top-ups, and Sprint Pass are not refundable. Technical issues are remedied with an AP grant, not cash. You can cancel anytime and keep access until the billing period ends. See our Refund Policy for full details.

AI Grading & Accuracy

How accurate is the AI grading?

Our AI grading uses advanced language models (Claude, Gemini) to provide ExamRift practice rubric scores and detailed, actionable feedback on your writing and speaking. These practice scores are not official TOEFL scores or certified assessments.

Can I trust the practice performance estimates?

Practice performance estimates improve with more practice data. They are based on your performance patterns across question types and difficulty levels. Treat them as study guidance, not official test scores or guarantees.

Mock Exams

How realistic are the mock exams?

Our mock exams follow the official format, timing, and question types of each test. Questions are carefully designed and verified to ensure quality and accuracy. The interface simulates the real test experience as closely as possible.

Can I take partial exams?

Yes. You can take a full mock exam, individual sections (Reading, Listening, Writing, Speaking), or Mini Mocks (shorter practice tests like Speed Rounds, Quick Sections, or Half Mocks). Each option costs different AP amounts.

Are the questions the same as real test questions?

No. All our questions are original content. We do not use or reproduce any copyrighted test material. Questions are designed to match the style, difficulty, and format of official exams.

Learning Features

What is SRS and why is it free?

SRS (Spaced Repetition System) is a scientifically proven method for long-term memorization. We keep SRS reviews free (0 AP) because consistent review is essential for learning — we never want AP to be a barrier to retention.

How does the study plan work?

During onboarding, you tell us your target exam, goal score, exam date, and available study time. Our AI generates a personalized daily study plan that balances vocabulary, grammar, reading, listening, speaking, and mock exam practice.

What languages is the interface available in?

How do I change the content language?

Go to Settings and select your preferred language under "Content Language". Once set, question stems, explanations, and supplementary materials will be displayed with translations in your chosen language. The original English content is always shown alongside the translation.

Does changing the language affect my exam practice?

No. All exam questions remain in the original test language (e.g., English for TOEFL). The content language setting only adds translations for supplementary materials, explanations, and UI text to help you understand the content better.

Account & Privacy

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account from Settings. Deletion is immediate and irreversible after required cancellation and refund operations: your Firebase sign-in identity is deleted and personal/learning data is disposed. There is no grace period or restore path.

How are my answers and recordings handled?

Answers and recordings stay in the browser used for the test, so they cannot be reopened from another device. Saving another completed result, signing out, switching accounts or clearing browser data may make them unavailable. If you request AI grading, that response is sent through our service to the AI provider. Scores and progress sync to your account; check the result page for pending sync or retries. Privacy Policy
