常見費用、政策與文件
政策因州、品牌與個別業者差異很大。以下是常見模式，不是通則。實際與現場標示不符時，依現場告示與收銀員指示為準。
- ZIP code 提示。 許多美國讀卡機要求 5 碼 ZIP code 來驗證美國發卡。海外卡通常過不了這步，這時改 pay inside 多半行得通。
- Debit 與 credit。 讀卡機問「Debit or credit?」時，credit 通常只要簽名或確認；debit 通常要 PIN。海外卡行為可能不同。兩種都被拒就改進店付款。
- Authorization holds。 部分油槍會暫時凍結較大金額（例如多出 $50–$100），等正式扣款後解除。一般幾天內回到帳戶，但因銀行而異。
- Cash discount。 部分加油站對現金與刷卡有不同價格。注意看招牌上有沒有兩個價格。
- Full 與 self service。 多數州允許 self-service。少數州或地區可能要求 attendant 代為操作部分或全部油槍。請依現場告示。
- Diesel 警告。 加錯油會傷引擎。Diesel 油槍通常是綠色把手、噴嘴較粗。如果不小心加錯，不要發動引擎，立刻告訴 attendant。
