點樣應付問答環節而唔會慌晒手腳

你啱啱講完 presentation,膊頭都鬆返。突然有人舉手——條問題又長、語氣又有少少不友善,仲夾雜一個你唔太識嘅生字。心跳即刻重啟。
對大部分學英文嘅人嚟講,Q&A 係 presentation 入面最驚嘅一環。你冇辦法 rehearse,又唔可以擺落 slide,淨係得你一個人去接全場拋過嚟嘅波。
問題出喺邊
大部分人嘅 Q&A 模式只有兩種:一係慌住即刻答,一係即場 freeze 之後狂講對唔住。兩種都唔會幫你爭取時間,亦唔會令你睇落有諗過。仲衰嘅係,好多人對住每條問題都自動答 "Good question"——講到第三次就好似機械人咁,仲帶少少假。
事實係:經驗豐富嘅 presenter 唔係答案叻過你,係佢哋嘅 opening moves 叻過你。佢哋識點樣將條問題拖慢、確認自己理解啱、然後從一個有信心嘅位置開始答。答案內容本身反而係易嘅部分,頭五秒先係勝負所在。
更好嘅講法
爭取時間先至答(聽落係有諗過,唔係拖時間)
- "That's something I've been thinking about too." — 親切,將對方當 peer 咁睇。
- "Let me think about that for a second." — 老實又有信心。停一停冇問題。
- "There are actually two parts to that." — 一邊講一邊喺腦入面整理答案結構,爭時間。
- "Before I answer, let me make sure I understand the question." — 高手級數嘅一招。
問清楚一條冇聽得好嘅問題
- "Just to make sure I follow — are you asking about X, or more about Y?"
- "Could you say a bit more about what you mean by [word]?"
- "I want to make sure I answer the right question — do you mean…?"
答一啲你其實唔識嘅嘢(呢個係 killer skill)
- "Honestly, I don't have that number in front of me, but my best estimate is…"
- "I don't want to guess on that — let me follow up after the session."
- "That's outside what I looked at, but here's what I'd suspect…"
- "Good challenge — I'd want to check before I commit to an answer."
唔好咁講 / 改咁講
Don't say: "Good question." (每一次都咁講)
Say: "That's something I've been thinking about too."
(「Good question」講多兩次就完全冇晒意思。另一句聽落就好真誠。)
Don't say: "Sorry, I don't know."
Say: "Honestly, I don't have that number in front of me — let me follow up."
(頭嗰句聽落好頹。第二句專業,仲畀埋對方下一步可以做乜。)
Don't say: "What?" / "Sorry?"
Say: "Just to make sure I follow — are you asking about cost or timing?"
(要對方重複一次聽落好弱。複述條問題反而顯示你有用心聽。)
Don't say: "Um, that's a difficult question…"
Say: "There are actually two parts to that."
(話條問題「困難」即係話畀全場知你緊張。將條問題拆開反而表示你掌控住場面。)
Mini Script
"That's something I've been thinking about too. So — there are actually two parts to that. The first part, about cost, I can answer right now: we're looking at roughly a 12% reduction. The second part, about long-term scalability, honestly I don't want to guess. Let me come back to you with a proper number after the session — does that work?"
呢個結構——acknowledge, split, answer the part you know, defer the part you don't——基本上應付到任何問題。
常見錯誤
問題未問完就搶住答。好多學英文嘅人因為太想表示自己聽得明,講到一半就插嘴,結果 (a) 失禮人,(b) 通常都答錯問題。然後要由頭嚟過,仲整到自己一臉慌張。
修法:等對方完全講完條問題。等佢停咗之後,喺心入面默念「一」,然後先用一句爭取時間嘅說話開口。淨係呢個習慣,已經可以令你睇落專業度升 30%。
練習
- 搵個朋友或者同事,就一個你熟嘅題目連續射三條問題畀你。強制自己每次答之前都用一句爭取時間嘅說話。
- 將 "Honestly, I don't have that number in front of me" 大聲讀五次。你要將呢句練到隨時出得到口——大部分學英文嘅人都係喺「唔識答」嗰刻 freeze。
- 錄低自己答一條問題,然後播返。係咪用咗 "Um" 開頭?係嘅話,用一句有結構嘅開場白重做。
- 下次開會嘅時候,搵機會用一次 "Just to make sure I follow — are you asking about X?"。留意吓全場氣氛點變。
- 寫低三條人哋最有可能就你下次 presentation 問嘅難題,每條起碼諗一句答案——包括嗰啲你只可以答「我之後 follow up」嘅。
總結
- "Good question" 已經用到爛——變化吓你嘅回應。
- 爭取時間唔係軟弱,係專業表現。
- 重新 clarify 條問題係高手動作,唔係話你冇聽明。
- "I don't know, let me follow up" 本身就係一個完整、有信心嘅答案。
- 等條問題講完先開口答。
