Reported Speech: Cara Ayat Berubah Apabila Orang Lain Yang Mengatakannya
Kawan anda berkata, "I am leaving now." Sepuluh minit kemudian, seseorang bertanya apa yang berlaku. Anda boleh mengulang kata-kata tepat itu dengan ketepatan dramatik, atau anda boleh melaporkan mesejnya: "She said she was leaving then." Tiba-tiba ayat itu bertukar pakaian. I menjadi she. am menjadi was. now menjadi then.
Reported speech ialah cara bahasa Inggeris menceritakan semula apa yang seseorang said, asked, promised, warned, atau explained. Perkataan sering berubah kerana speaker, time, dan situation sudah berubah.
Jawapan Ringkas
Direct speech memberi kata-kata tepat:
- Maya said, "I am tired."
- He asked, "Where is the file?"
- They said, "We will call tomorrow."
Reported speech memberi makna:
- Maya said that she was tired.
- He asked where the file was.
- They said that they would call the next day.
Perubahan utama biasanya melibatkan pronouns, verb tense, time words, dan word order dalam questions.
Pola
Statements
Gunakan reporting verb seperti said, told, explained, mentioned, atau promised. Kemudian laporkan mesejnya.
- "I need help." -> She said that she needed help.
- "We are ready." -> They said that they were ready.
- "He has left." -> She said that he had left.
Perkataan that optional dalam banyak everyday sentences:
- She said she needed help.
- They said they were ready.
Tense Shifts
Apabila reporting verb berada dalam past, reported verb sering bergerak satu langkah ke belakang.
| Direct Speech | Reported Speech |
|---|---|
| am / is / are | was / were |
| do / does | did |
| did | had done |
| have / has done | had done |
| will | would |
| can | could |
| may | might |
Contoh:
- "I am busy." -> He said he was busy.
- "She works here." -> He said she worked there.
- "We finished early." -> They said they had finished early.
- "I will help." -> She said she would help.
Jika maklumat yang dilaporkan masih benar, tense shift mungkin optional:
- "Water boils at 100 degrees Celsius." -> The teacher said water boils at 100 degrees Celsius.
- "I live on Oak Street." -> He said he lives on Oak Street. Ini berfungsi jika dia masih tinggal di sana.
Pronouns dan Possessives
Pronouns berubah berdasarkan siapa yang sedang bercakap sekarang.
"I lost my keys," Ana said.
Ana said that she had lost her keys.
"We finished our part," the team said.
The team said that they had finished their part.
Jangan ubah pronouns secara mekanikal. Ubah berdasarkan makna.
Time dan Place Words
Perkataan seperti now, today, dan here mungkin perlu bergerak kerana laporan berlaku kemudian atau di tempat lain.
| Direct | Reported |
|---|---|
| now | then |
| today | that day |
| yesterday | the day before |
| tomorrow | the next day |
| this week | that week |
| here | there |
Contoh:
- "I will call tomorrow." -> She said she would call the next day.
- "We met here yesterday." -> They said they had met there the day before.
Jika masa dan tempat masih sama, anda boleh mengekalkan perkataan asal. Konteks yang menentukan.
Contoh Semula Jadi
Kemas Kini Harian
- "I am running late." -> He said he was running late.
- "The train is full." -> She said the train was full.
- "We cannot join tonight." -> They said they could not join that night.
Reported speech berguna kerana hidup kebanyakannya dipenuhi orang yang mengulang update orang lain.
Work dan Study
- "The deadline has changed." -> The manager said the deadline had changed.
- "You need to upload the file." -> The teacher told us to upload the file.
- "We will review the results." -> The team said they would review the results.
Perhatikan said dan told. Gunakan told dengan person: "She told me." Gunakan said tanpa object wajib: "She said that..."
Questions
Reported questions tidak menggunakan question word order.
- "Where is the office?" -> He asked where the office was.
- "Do you need help?" -> She asked if I needed help.
- "Can they join us?" -> He asked whether they could join us.
Tiada question mark diperlukan melainkan seluruh ayat itu ialah question:
- He asked where the office was.
- Did he ask where the office was?
Requests dan Commands
Gunakan told/asked + person + to + verb.
- "Please wait outside." -> She asked us to wait outside.
- "Do not open the door." -> He told me not to open the door.
- "Send the form by Friday." -> They told us to send the form by Friday.
Pola ini lebih bersih daripada cuba mengubah setiap perkataan satu demi satu.
Reporting Verbs Menambah Sikap
Anda tidak perlu menggunakan said setiap masa. Reporting verbs yang berbeza menunjukkan cara mesej disampaikan:
- She explained that the form was optional.
- He warned us that the road was icy.
- They promised they would send an update.
- I mentioned that the link was broken.
- The guide recommended arriving early.
Pilih verbs ini dengan teliti. Warned lebih kuat daripada said. Promised mencipta tanggungjawab. Mentioned membuat mesej terasa santai. Reported speech bukan hanya tentang grammar shifts; ia juga membolehkan anda menunjukkan tujuan speaker.
Sesetengah reporting verbs mengambil pola khas:
- He apologized for being late.
- She suggested taking a break.
- They advised us to save a copy.
Reporting verb boleh mengawal grammar yang mengikutinya, sama seperti pola verb lain.
Idea Kamera Bergerak
Reported speech lebih mudah jika anda membayangkan kamera bergerak. Direct speech dirakam dari posisi speaker asal: I, here, now. Reported speech dirakam dari posisi reporter, sering lebih lewat dan di tempat lain: she, there, then.
Itulah sebabnya perubahan ini tidak rawak. Anda bukan menterjemah perkataan demi perkataan. Anda membina semula ayat daripada sudut pandang baru.
- Direct: "I left my bag here."
- Reported later: She said she had left her bag there.
Beg itu tidak bergerak kerana grammar. Kamera yang bergerak.
Perangkap Biasa
Perangkap 1: Mengekalkan Question Word Order
"He asked where was the file" kedengaran salah dalam reported speech. Gunakan statement order: "He asked where the file was."
Perangkap 2: Menggunakan Said Dengan Object Secara Langsung
"She said me the answer" tidak semula jadi. Gunakan "She told me the answer" atau "She said the answer."
Perangkap 3: Mengubah Tense Apabila Tidak Perlu
Jika sesuatu masih benar, tense asal boleh kekal:
- The guide said the museum opens at ten.
Ini sangat biasa untuk facts, schedules, dan current truths.
Perangkap 4: Terlupa Pronouns
"Tom said I lost my wallet" bermaksud current speaker kehilangan wallet. Jika Tom yang kehilangannya, katakan "Tom said he had lost his wallet."
Perangkap 5: Menggunakan That Terlalu Banyak
That betul, tetapi tidak selalu perlu. "She said that she was tired" dan "She said she was tired" kedua-duanya baik dalam everyday English.
Perangkap 6: Backshifting Semuanya Secara Automatik
Backshift biasa selepas past reporting verbs, tetapi ia bukan mesin yang mesti mengubah setiap verb. Facts, current truths, dan schedules yang masih sah boleh kekal dalam present. "The instructor said the test begins at nine" semula jadi jika test masih bermula pada pukul sembilan. Jika masa sudah berlalu atau speaker mahu jarak, "began" mungkin sesuai. Konteks yang menentukan.
Salah / Lebih Baik / Mengapa
| Salah | Lebih Baik | Mengapa |
|---|---|---|
| He asked where was the station. | He asked where the station was. | Reported questions menggunakan statement word order. |
| She said me she was busy. | She told me she was busy. | Told mengambil person; said tidak berfungsi begini. |
| They said they will arrive tomorrow. | They said they would arrive the next day. | Past reporting sering menukar will kepada would dan tomorrow kepada the next day. |
| Maya said I lost my phone. | Maya said she had lost her phone. | Pronouns mesti sepadan dengan original speaker. |
| He told to wait outside. | He told us to wait outside. | Told memerlukan person sebelum infinitive. |
| She asked did I need help. | She asked if I needed help. | Yes/no questions menggunakan if atau whether. |
Latihan Mini
Tulis semula setiap ayat sebagai reported speech.
- Ben said, "I am hungry."
- The students said, "We finished the task."
- Lina asked, "Where is my notebook?"
- The sign said, "Do not enter."
- He said, "I will call tomorrow."
- They asked, "Can we sit here?"
- Nora said, "I have seen this movie."
- The coach said, "Practice starts at seven."
Kunci Jawapan
- Ben said that he was hungry.
- The students said that they had finished the task.
- Lina asked where her notebook was.
- The sign said not to enter. / The sign told people not to enter.
- He said that he would call the next day.
- They asked if they could sit there.
- Nora said that she had seen that movie.
- The coach said that practice starts at seven. Oleh sebab ini mungkin masih schedule, present tense boleh kekal.
Ringkasan Kecil
Reported speech menceritakan semula makna, bukan selalu kata-kata tepat.
Tukar pronouns berdasarkan siapa yang bercakap sekarang.
Past reporting verbs sering menolak tense satu langkah ke belakang.
Reported questions menggunakan statement word order.
Gunakan told/asked + person + to + verb untuk requests dan commands.
