Bahasa Inggeris Ujian Perubatan: Ujian Darah, Urinalisis, X-ray, Ultrabunyi, MRI

Selepas doktor berkata "Let's order some tests", baki lawatan itu biasanya berjalan begini: anda membawa pesanan ujian ke makmal, pusat pengimejan, atau farmasi; kaunter hadapan bertanya apa ujian itu, sama ada anda berpuasa, dan sama ada anda mempunyai sebarang implan logam. Setiap ujian mempunyai skrip pendek dalam bahasa Inggeris, tetapi satu perkataan tunggal (contrast, fast, claustrophobic) boleh mengelirukan anda. Ujian darah

• "I'm here for a blood draw."
• "It's a fasting test — I haven't eaten since 9 p.m. last night."
• "I tend to get a little dizzy after blood draws."
• "Could I lie down during the draw?"
• Ujian biasa: CBC (complete blood count), metabolic panel, A1C, cholesterol panel.

Ujian air kencing

• "Where do I leave the urine sample?"
• "Is this a clean catch?"
• "How much do you need?"
• Ujian biasa: urinalysis, urine culture.

X-ray

• "I need a chest X-ray today."
• "Are you pregnant or could you be pregnant?" (hampir selalu ditanya) → "No, I'm not / Yes, I might be."
• "Please remove anything metal — necklaces, bras with underwire." (arahan yang anda patut boleh ikuti)

Ultrabunyi

• "It's an abdominal ultrasound — fasting required."
• "For the pelvic ultrasound you may need a full bladder."
• "The gel will feel cold."

Imbasan CT

• "Will the CT use contrast — IV or oral?"
• "I'm allergic to iodine contrast — please note that."
• "How long will I be in the machine?"

MRI

• "Do I have any metal in my body — implants, pacemaker, surgical clips?" (anda akan ditanya — senaraikannya)
• "I'll need to take off anything metal, including jewelry and credit cards."
• "It can be loud — they'll give me earplugs."
• "I get claustrophobic — could I have a mild sedative?"
• "How long does the scan last?"
