Reservar una cita médica en inglés: agendar, reagendar, cancelar y walk-in

Para mucha gente, "llamar para reservar una cita médica" es el escenario en inglés más difícil: la otra persona habla rápido, no le ves la boca y se mezclan términos desconocidos. Pero las llamadas para citas son como las reservas de restaurante: la estructura es muy predecible: saludo → identificarte → elegir hora → decir el motivo → confirmar → cerrar. Domina el inglés de cada paso y una llamada dura unos tres minutos.

Respuestas habituales del recepcionista (pistas de escucha)

Lo que suele complicar una llamada de cita no es lo que tienes que decir, sino lo que tienes que entender. Familiarízate con estas frases antes para no bloquearte.

Frases torpes vs. naturales

I want change my time. I need to reschedule. "Reschedule" es el término estándar — cualquier recepcionista lo entiende.
I cannot come tomorrow, sorry. I need to cancel my appointment for tomorrow. Di simplemente "cancel" — no hace falta rodearlo.
Today can I see doctor? Do you accept walk-ins today? "Walk-in" es el término estándar.
Doctor have time? Does the doctor have any availability? "Availability" suena más natural que "time".
